Western Digital 250 Gig (WD2500SB) RE formats to 175 Gigs

December 20th, 2013, 14:26

I purchased a few of these drives used, intending to do a project. The seller wiped and formatted them. I was surprised to find they will only format to 175 gigs. I have looked for hidden partitions and used Western Digital's common tools without success.

I have monitored these forums for a few years and appreciate the insight of users here.

I would sincerely appreciate some direction on how to fully utilize the drives.
Thank you.

UPDATE
I used the CONFIG command in MHDD and followed the instructions. That resolved my issues. Great tool!
Thank you.
