This HDD was used in a Rosewill external enclosure. I stopped using it a long time ago. I've decided to retrieve data from it. It is now attached to an ICY DOCK MB981U3N-1SA SATA & IDE Adapter. It simply won't spin. What are my options?

Can you measure +5V and +12V at the drive's Molex power connector?

How would I do that? I'm a bit of a novice. Although I do have experience with fixing the nightmare that was the Seagate 7200.11.

A digital multimeter should cost you less than US$10, even as low as $3.

I'll see about getting a digital multimeter tomorrow. I hope I can get further instructions afterwards. I did apply power to it and it did not spin.

It's late but I have the multimeter. How do I test for +5V and +12V at the drive's Molex power connector?
