Doc, Tutorials, Tips for Maxtor HDD Database?

January 10th, 2014, 12:23

Hi,

Am unable to fully format my Maxtor 40GB HDD. DBAN goes to ~50% then ends with non fatal error message.

Did some searching and found this is most likely due to firmware corruption.

Did some more searching and found a Maxtor HDD website http://maxtor-hdd.narod.ru/

Downloaded the files for my HDD and opened but did not find any English text how to use them?

The website did mention modules, loaders, and memory for Maxtor HDDs but still did not find any documentation. Am guessing it is assumed anyone using this website knows all this.

This newbie would appreciate any links to documentation explaining this or tips on how to use these files.

Thanks

Marv

Another similar capacity drive should be as close to free as you can get. Is there any special reason you want to continue with this drive as it looks like you don't need any data from it?
cheers
