WD WD10EADS-00M2B0 PCB: 2060-771640-001 REV A

January 13th, 2014, 17:44

Dear all,

I have the problem, that this hard disc gives a clicking sound.
You could hear it in the mp3.
On this PCB there is no BIOS chip.

Could anybody please help and say exactly, what is going on with this disc.
Is this a head crash?
Thanks for help.

Sounds pretty nasty, like at least one head is broken and scraping the platter(s)

Do NOT power this drive up any more.

Seek assistance from a DR company, this is not DIY'able :-(

Ok so thank you very much for the answers.
Good to know what it is going about.
So I let diagnose it and let's see.

Don't power it up any more. Each click or scrape is your data getting destroyed :-(
