60GB seagate Laptop pata HDD showing 8GB

February 16th, 2014, 3:45

Recently my 60gb external casing HDD is giving trouble, so i decided to format it. After formatting in xp, it is showing 8GB only.
So, i decided to open it up to found that it is a 60GB seagate momentus 5400.2 Pata HDD and on connecting it thru usb port showing 8GB only.

Now how to restore the HDD to original capacity of 60GB. Gurus please suggest ways.

If you formatted it means that data were not important!
If you want just try to fix the drive then you can try the option "Set Capacity to Max Native" in Seatools:
