Hello Michael chiklis,

This error occur due to following reasons
1. Source or license file damaged or changed.
2. Software info changed. if software info not matched the original state(which you enter to get activation license) then it shows this error.
3. If you change some thing in PC like motherboard and VGA driver then it stop working and shows this error. make PC to its original state of settings which you provide us and restart PC ,it start working again
4. If you are trying to run software on other machine then it also gives you this error.
5. Motherboard and windows registry is the main part of sediv protection, kindly don't change motherboard and windows registry.
Important method to stop getting this error.
1. Make info and send to server for activation , and wait for activation source.
2. After getting activation, save this whole sediv software in zip format and save in a secured place.
3. Make a ghost of windows in which you register sediv. so if your windows goes damaged you can reinstall windows by ghost which you make after getting license.
By above these three things you software never damaged and you never lose license.
Come to online chat or visit our forum to get rid of this error , no need to worry. We are always here.

Waqas Ali

We all know that motherboards and graphics cards never break down, and users never upgrade their hardware (My "new" machine is 10 years young while my "old" machine died after 14 years). But just in case our hardware does fail, is there a problem getting a new activation code, or must we buy a new licence?

Hello michael chiklis,
something is wrong with your license.

The Brew-Ha-Ha that happened with MS and their usage of hardware codes to activate should have been enough to stop anyone else using this method to protect software.

As you cannot prove a customer doesnt have a machine with the software installed already but calls to say it blew up and they need activation again on their new machine, this type of protection is flawed. There are a Myriad of other issues with this type of protection, I am sure you will discover them in future.

Do a new image/clone of the Maxtor drive.

Protection defeated. Now SeDiv will work on all cloned PC-3000 PCI machines as they use the same hardware !

:D :D :D

Maybe, if the serials or other unique identifiers in the hardware are different, then not so much.

But yes, you see a lot of fail in this area. many times after spending a great amount of resources such as time and money on it.

I suspect the warnings are probably false positives due to the code morphing nature of the security measures incorporated within the software. That would explain the password. That is, a password would prevent any antivirus program from scanning the RAR and consequently flagging the download, and/or the web site, as suspicious.

Edit: The author previously informed me that he has used ORiEN to protect his code.

http://soft.mydiv.net/win/download-ORiEN.html

Google's Russian-to-English translation ...

ORiEN - application to protect executable files from unauthorized launch. There are options to protect bound to a particular computer, limited working hours, protection key file and password, blocking run with a variety of carriers, etc. The program does not require installation.

Here is an old Virustotal report:
https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/77c4 ... 277598202/

Norman antivirus detects Orien:

Norman W32/Packed_Orien.A

Packers identified

Command ORiEN
F-PROT ORiEN
PEiD ORiEN v2.11 (DEMO)

Ok, so we have a few weeks of use before winXP is End of Life.

Really not acceptable to code something for an obsolete OS.

As we use software such as this to work on client drives, We can not, in good faith, advertise that we keep the customers data confidential.

Having the DR computer off the internet, but on the Internal LAN is not a solution as it REALLY IS still connected to the internet.

People need to take security and Software development more seriously.

Examples, Target, Sony, RSA, etc etc.

One breach alone cost an ISP here their whole company. they had client websites deleted and could not recover.

If you think I am being dramatic - you are part of the problem.

peace.
