it seems like FW problem. I don't use Salvation, so I don't have opinion about it.
what does 'it is with another plate' mean?

Hi,

If U are sure the donor PCB is from the same FW version as the patient drive, it may be a disk FW corruption also.
but first make sure that U found a matching board by the HDA, PCBA and UNIQUE codes.

pepe

ok!!!

The problem is the Fw....

Use PC3000 to record the fw (MODULE)..

Type safe your HDD jumper.
Before you record the fw, just see the firmware structure, check the : CSR in LDR.

just write the firmware and Module group (*.rpm and *.smb).

Along

repairing HDD is not as easy as You Think.
First you must to understand How HDD work then you can repair it...
but The most important is Know what make the HDD become problem.
if it is problem is F/w Not just rewrite it will be OK..
A bad decision in writing the Module will make the drive become worst.. and difficult to repair it anymore....

Ah, even that can break the drive - better still ..
write only the necessary corrupted mods and even then...
maybe some screen says a mod is corrupted when it is in fact not.

so yes this is why it is not so easy - agreed...
