Fix the FIPS, assuming that is the problem. No need for replacement ROMs.

It's not a FIPS problem, assuming you've read the ROM correctly. It's definitely corrupt, though.

The following topic explains how to extract the ROM and MOVLY001 SA module from a SpinPoint F3 firmware update:

viewtopic.php?t=28341

You need to patch a FIPS section from a working ROM, or create your own.

AISI, if the ROM is not a match, you may be able to circumvent this by writing the included MOVLY001 module to the SA.

The following thread has a ROM image, plus a compatible MOVLY001 module.

Take the 256KB ROM image from the SB850 update and add the second half of the 512KB donor ROM. That should give you a working 512KB ROM. If you then gain access to the SA, you could write the MOVLY001 module from the SB850 update. In this way you would be manually applying the full firmware update to the drive.

I'm assuming yours is a retail drive, not an OEM, otherwise you might consider searching for OEM firmware, eg Dell, HP.

i found several donor roms , 1 of them allowed the hdd to go rdy :D

first 15000 LBAs are too buggy and thought of some adaptive data (inspite of i know samsung roms are not famous for such thing) , but drive went stable afterwards :)

thanks alot Frank , you have been the only one that attributed a time for my case , thank you ..

any way , once the data recovered , i will keep playing with compiling the rom my self ..

You built and patched the ROM incorrectly.
