April 4th, 2014, 18:20

Hi folks, i have a MQ01ABD032 Toshiba hard drive, and when I use it in windows like slave is detected, I can see the drivers and to pass data and everything works perfect!. But when I disconnect the primary disk and change to primary the toshiba disk and entered the installation of windows 8 booting from the cd, do not recognize me, is like it doesnt exist, and also using a windows 7 cd I get the same, but the Bios can detect it, i test it changing sata bios settings but its the same than before ... if anyone can understand what happens would greatly appreciate your response greetings!

Hello,

which motherboard do you have?
It could be, that MB drivers are not supported by OS and you need to install it manually

Jerovsek means "F6 drivers". you would load these at the start of the windows install, where the installation says something like "press F6 if you need to load RAID or storage drivers".

But being something like a 320GB, I would find it probably doesn't require them.

So you tried changing the disk mode in the BIOS before install? It would look something like "Legacy Mode" or a choice between IDE and AHCI mode.. choose IDE. If this is what you tried, maybe try updating the BIOS. But realistically, a s/h different 320GB or even 500GB HDD would be cheap enough that any more than a few hours and reboots, re-installs is probably starting to get on the timewasting side of the fence, and better for your brain cells to forget it.

a hilarious review of this drive for sheer schitz and giggles:
not recommended ..

the product was good looking , but said, beauty comes with missing brain, so as the HDD was missing it's brain. I used it only for 1 month and then the product was completely, Zomby.. Aftermath, the Toshiba Service was another night mare for me. For nearly, 3 weeks, they were not even tired of making fool out of me, by asking, call to this toll free number, call to this service number, visit this center, this center don't take such case, and even at one point, they did not hesitate to ask me get permission from top management to give me the service. Thanks to FK, to come in and help me bring out that mess. Love FK , sorry from heart zero stars for the product..

Hello,

if you set BIOS to compatibility mode then you will not need to install drivers for motherboard. If you leave BIOS settings like it is, then you will need to install motherboard drivers.
The best is, if you inform us which model and revison of motherboard you have.
If installation doesen't find drive is problem in driver not in drive
