filesystem damaged... how to recover data?

Yesterday I've formatted my 1.5Tb drive for a mistake
I was creating a usb flash drive for istalling linux by usb but i forgot to change the letter and the program formatted my drive in fat32 and write also 1.3gb of files.
I run tetdisk and a deep search found the old ntfs partition (as large as the disk) but it say that partition can t be recovered
And if i try to list files i can t see it ( it says that the filesystem seems damaged)
Photorec can recover my data but i lose all filenames and for 800gb of files is hard to rename all
If i rewrite the partition table with the old partition table (with only an ntfs partition) i lose my data or i can recover all files?
How can i recover files with the filenames and directory ? Is there a way to recover the whole filesystem?

Start by getting a full sector-by-sector clone of the drive. Then try to restore the MBR with testdisk on the clone to see if it give you full access to your files. If not, run a full scan of the clone drive with a program like R-Studio. The odds are, you overwrote some of the NTFS file contents, which will require the full scan in order to piece the file structure together and find any lost file fragments that no longer have NTFS records to reference (RAW files).

Just remember to recover from the clone to a third drive a do not do anything to the original until you are 100% sure you have recovered everything you want and the files open.

sadly i have no other drives to make a clone of this drive.... if i overwrite the MBR sector is there a risk of losing all files forever?

you absolutely risk making matters worse. If data has any value to you the small cost of another hard drive is nothing and gives you insurance.

If you don't have the tools or resources to safely recover your files, I recommend you contact the forum member BlackST who is also in Italy. This should be a relatively easy recovery for a pro and should be priced somewhere at the bottom end of their pricing scale (assuming that the problem is exactly as you described).

Data che si presume che il tuo hdd non sia fisicamente danneggiato, potresti clonarlo senza l'utilizzo di apparecchiature hardware, ci sono tanti software in grado di clonare gli hdd.

Dopo che avrai clonato per intero l'hdd (facendo attenzione a non scambiare il drive da clonare con quello vuoto su cui clonare i dati), dovrai utilizzare R-Studio e fare una scansione completa.

Once you have cloned the entire hdd (taking care not to swap the drive to be cloned with the empty one on which you want to save your data), you will need to use R-Studio and do a full scan.

Si, puoi clonarlo con questo programma.
Ovviamente l'hdd di destinazione dovrà avere una capacità pari o superiore a quello con i dati da recuperare.

P.S.
Se i dati da recuperare gli ritieni molto importanti, forse è meglio che ti affidi a qualche professionista, soprattutto se non hai esperienza in clonazione, nell'utilizzo di R-Studio, file carving, ecc

Si, una volta clonato il tuo hdd è meglio che lo vai a posare in un cassetto, dovrai lavorare con R-Studio solo sul hdd clone.
Io non sono un professionista, cioè non lavoro con problemi interni degli hdd (niente camera bianca), ma ho esperienza nella parte elettronica e un pò sui firmware.
Ho recuperato molti hdd formattati per errore oppure con settori danneggiati.

Con R-Studio quasi certamente dovrai fare una scansione completa, dato che sicuramente hai sovrascritto molti settori dovrai poi fare l'estraione dei files in RAW su un terzo hdd

ok in pratica funziona come testdisk trova la vecchia partizione e cerco di ripristinare il vecchio settore MBR giusto? per riavere la partizione ntfs .... ma quanto è probabile che funzioni?

Assolutamente no.
Testdisk va a modificare direttamente l'hdd sotto test, invece tu devi evitare di effettuare ulteriore modifiche al hdd da cui intendi recuperare i dati.
La clonazione serve proprio a tale scopo, poi se vorrai usare Testdisk potrai anche farlo sul clone (ma io ti consiglio R-studio, lascia stare testdisk), così se qualcosa andasse storto potrai sempre fare altri tentativi clonando nuovamente il tuo drive.

P.S.
tieni presente che potresti non recuperare alcuni dati per il fatto che hai sovrascritto ben 1.5 GB

forse non mi sono spiegato bene parlavo sempre dell'hard disk clone ovviamente quello originale non lo tocco più comunque quello che chiedevo era se con R studio dovevo fare la stessa cosa che facevo con testdisk o se devo fare altri tipi di modifiche all hard disk

comunque si ero a conoscenza che potrei perdere quel giga di dati

R-studio non dovrebbe fare modifiche al hdd (a meno che tu non decida stupidamente di salvare i files sullo stesso hdd).
R-Studio dopo la scansione completa ti mostrerà in "extra found files" i file recuperabili via RAW che poi andrai a salvare sul terzo hdd.

Testdisk non fa questo, caso mai lo fa "photorec" che è incluso in testdisk, ma r-studio è meglio.

Inoltre non si tratta solo del fatto di perdere quel giga che hai sovrascritto, in quanto quasi certamente in quel giga sovrascritto è anda persa la MFT (cioè le indicizzazioni di tutti i files inclusi i loro nomi e le cartelle d'appartenenza, per tale motivo servirà il recupero RAW), l'ha spiegato spiegato anche "lcoughey" in inglese.

Molto probabilmente non recuperari i nomi dei files e nemmeno le cartelle, oppure li recupererai solo parzialmente (dipende se la MFT è stata sovrascritta parzialmente o totalmente).
La scansione RAW va ad individuare i metadata di ogni singolo files.

E' come cercare un libro in una biblioteca senza avere a disposizione le liste, è un bel lavoraccio e dovrai sperare che non siano piazzati disordinatamente (intendo dire che più la partizione era frammentata maggiori saranno le possibilità che i files recuperati risultino danneggiati).

avevo deframmentato abbastanza recentemente tipo qualche mese fa al massimo ma difficilmente cancellavo qualcosa dall'hdd quindi penso che la percentuale di frammentazione era bassa

solo che io già per clonare l'hdd devo comprarne uno nuovo quindi a quanto mi dici mi servirà anche un 3o hdd ? ma rischio tanto se estraggo tutti i file in raw e li metto sull'hard disk nuovo direttamente?

anche provando a riscrivere la tabella delle partizioni (sul clone) non ci concluderei niente vero?
