I have a WD Scorpio Blue HDD that runs perfectly fine for 15-30 mins, then stops working and makes a really loud buzzing sound (not clicking). If i hit the HDD, the sound goes away and the HDD starts working again. The harder i hit the HDD the longer it goes without making this buzzing sound. Im thinking maybe the head is getting stuck at a certain point and hitting the HDD advances it past the bad spot. Any suggestions to what it might be?

Not sure what's causing the problem, but I AM sure that if you keep on hitting it, it won't be "working perfectly" much longer.
It sounds like a bearing issue to me.
