Samsung HM321HX USB To SATA PCB Possible

May 7th, 2014, 11:45

Have one of these in that has been through a washing machine.... Platters look ok but pcb is covered in residue and USB connector is completely broken off.

Never tried before but can you install a SATA board onto these? PCB is M7U2_339_REV.01. If so whats the PCB matching rules

If this went through a washing machine, my guess is that water got inside the drive, so there is probably more issues than the USB connector on the PCB. If you want to pursue SATA connector, please post a picture of the PCB. I don't know of any guidelines to match USB PCB with SATA PCB, but there may be a way to solder a SATA port to the PCB or another USB donor PCB.
