Hello!
I have drive which is visible in BIOS and under MHDD/Victoria.
SMART Status is GOOD. Only 1 sector is relocated.
No Problems reported by SMART.
(F2) INIT is OK - LBA size and info OK
(F6) HPA is OK - LBA size is OK
If I do SCAN (F4) or SEEK (F7) only S = IDNF errors all the time. (No good sectors at all - impossible)
What could it be:
1) Heads problem
2) Servo broblem
3) Bad info about drive geometry in firmware?
History:
The drive disappered some day with data and it is all.
It looks to me that it is something wrong with firmware data about.
How can I fix/diagnose better this?

typical problem with wd.
heads, pcb OK - FW got some fault.
You need to buy some programs, study manual and then
try with some drives where data not important, then move
on to try with drives where data is important.
Then find out some variations which can cause this fault type
and then experiment or find out how to fix these.
success !

Is there any firmware repairing guide for fixing WB400BB Series Drives? Where can I get proper firmware/mods to it?
What I should check?
