We need more details than this.
1. What was the original problem?
2. Did you get a full clone of the drive?
3. Are we looking a a file from the original, clone or from recovered data using a data recovery program?
4. Can you provide the headers of more than one file to compare?

Clone the drive first.
also other options:
What OS is it?
Does the OS still work
Could you recover via previous versions? System Restore?

If this is due to a virus attack then i think it has attacked the filesystem.
Have you tried to recover your jpg files with R-studio (probably you'll need to do a full scan for RAW recovery)?
If you can recover those files via R-studio save on a third drive.
