Fujitsu Branded Hard Drives ONLY

July 26th, 2014, 15:25

Is it me OR the Toshiba branded utility does NOT work properly with its Toshiba/Hitachi devices?
http://storage.toshiba.com/storage-serv ... -utilities

Tried seven different SATA2 HDDs with no use, neither windows XP/w7 nor x86/64 in AHCI/IDE modes enabled even CHOOSiNG a listed drive. How come?!

To cut it short, is "branded" utility any better than "general purpose"
or just infamous marketing?

Utility from what tool?

Actually, it's about Windows Diagnostic Tool Ver. 1.12.

It does show the correct info about model/serial, but does NOT let choosing any.
I even tried disabling all non-Toshiba drivers--in vain. WinPE the same.

Perhaps it's just outdated, but they forgot about it?
On the other hand, it may be just Toshiba funny coders; April 1 for good)

Not sure what's exactly wrong; anyway, my priority concern is whether the branded non-working tool any better than conventional multi-purpose ones? Both in this case and in general.
