Seagate 7000.14 Help to diag !!

August 14th, 2014, 3:15

Hello guys,
Sorry but I'm new here and I really need help.

I have a Seagate Barracuda 7000.14 :

model : ST1000DM003
PN : 9YN162-303
Firmware : CC4D
PCB : 100664987 Rev A

I bought it 2 years ago and today something happened.... I started my PC as usual, nothing particular. But the HDD has not been recognized. I tried to put it in an external drive but nothing at all.
The Hard drive spins, and there is no "clock clock" or any sound, just some little sound when it starts just like he reads platters, and nothing.
I have all pictures of my children on it, and as an asshole I did not make any save of it.

I read that it can be cause by the PCB, but I'm not sure at all.
Please help me to know how I can do to retrieve those precious pictures. What do you think about this ?

I know it's difficult to say like that...but if somebody has the same issue, perhaps he could help.

Thank you !

Hello lordkrowan,

first stop any activity with your HDD and contact PRO datarecovery near you.
It could be head stiction.
Dont do it yourself without proper tools and KNOWLEDGE

If you do not have tools and experince beter contact with local pro (see msg)
