Data recovery and disk repair questions and discussions related to old-fashioned SATA, SAS, SCSI, IDE, MFM hard drives - any type of storage device that has moving parts

I read pcb firmware is usually staying on 8-pin EEprom chip (in WD I see it's marked U12?!) but other firmware modules live on platters (outside LBA) where ATA commands are not able to reach them but only hdd builder know way to retrieve data on platters.
I ask myself:
with Sediv I can retrieve pcb BIOS firmware to save one into file, but can I save firmware modules which live on platters by Sediv? Or what software/tool?

Yes, Sediv can read and save the FW modules as also ROM.

I found it in Sediv as "Flash module read".
My test says:
version FW not read!
and few rows later: Action: read flash OK
I noted : Action: Read resident file: 001 ERROR
I think flash rom is OK but SA (fw modules) is error and it's not unreadable.
What do you think?

are you sure you loaded the drive into SeDiv correctly? Does SeDiv correctly display the drive name, model, and firmware version down in bottom left corner?

Yes, I load Sediv correctly.
I tried to mount hard disk to another pc and on different sata port with the same result.
I set hard disk in safe mode by jumper too but model is not detected by Sediv; Bios has the same results, unknown model and size 0.
Rom is read correctly.
Where can I find info about this firmware module 001 please ?

You can only save FW modules if the drive get's ID.
It seems that you have other problems...
