Hi! Having trouble with my USB-drive from Western digital. Can't format it and it's detected as a CD-drive by Windows.
Formatted the disk after having trouble to write data to it. After that the size is 27 MB, the disk is in reality 1TB.
Windows diskmgmt.msc shows it as CD-rom 8, got also a Disk 2, with 931GB unallocated space wich must be the "rest" of the disk. Can't do anything with it. Only options when right clicking Disk 2 is offline, properties & help.

Hello Steel rat,
Not long ago I tried to burn an ISO unto my 32GB flash stick via UltraISO, so it changed its signature (DRIVE TYPE) to HDD-USB, which gave rather many problems, including not working ID--and I had troubles restoring it. The point is the signature is not usually reset to default after formatting, instead, it 'dictates and limits' the media features.
IF it's no hardware gimmick, then I guess it's very something to do with your question.
Good luck.
