Head Replacement on SAS disks

September 8th, 2014, 5:38

Hello,

I have a 2.5'' SAS disk with broken heads. Is it the head replacement procedure similar to SATA disks?
Are the Hard Drive Match Criteria for Head Stack Assembly replacement the same as for SATA disks?
The disk is a Toshiba/Fujitsu MBD2147RC.

Your help will be appreciated.

Sometimes the procedure is mechanically quite different from most other hard drives, depending upon the model -- especially those with 2.5" platters in a 3.5" enclosure.
