Data recovery and disk repair questions and discussions related to old-fashioned SATA, SAS, SCSI, IDE, MFM hard drives - any type of storage device that has moving parts

Hi,
this morning my drive suddenly started making these noises [1] and was not detected by BIOS and Windows anymore. It was fine yesterday and it also worked fine for the last 2 years. I didn't move it or something like it. It was always in my Corsair 700D case in a vertical position.
Why did it work so suddenly? What part of the drive is malfunctioning? The head? Is there anyway I can get it to be detected by BIOS again so I rescue my data?
Model: ST3000DM001
FW: CC4B
For making the video I just put the drive into my external usb case to be more clear.

Sounds very much like heads failure to me.
Seeing an awful lot of this model in with same issue

Quite often they have media damage too, which kills the new heads. So recovery is often pretty expensive

I have the same problem witch my barracuda ST3000DM001 read this theard:
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=29542, Hard work properly for 8 days and then suddenly gone from the system. SMART was OK. In my opinion, rather the fault lies not with the heads, and on the side of ROM. Sorry for my english.
