Freecom XXS 320 / Samsung

December 1st, 2014, 9:19

Hi guys,

I have a Freecom 2.0 XXS 320 gb hard drive. Unfortunately, it does not power up any more. I ahve had this drive for some time and been meaning to get the data off, which i didn't untill my back up burned as well  Wise lessons.

Anyway, i want to determine what the cause might be. I have been doing extensive reading and noticed that this particular drive has many complaints. It might be the soldered connection f.e. However, i am fairly new in this expertise and an't get my head around it so far. Data recovery professionals ask prices i cannot afford. Therefore, i hope i can do it my self. Is anyone willing to give me tips on what to do w/o being insulted if i ask additional questions for not getting it straight away? :)

Many thanks in advance.

Sometimes the connections on the USB connector go bad, find a friend with a soldering iron and know how to use it :-)
