seagate momentus 80gb(slow sectors)

December 1st, 2014, 14:58

hello guys i have an old seagate hdd 2,5 inches 80gb and its 8 years old.
i checked with hard disk sentinel and it has perofrmance 100 and health 90(very good for so many years)
it had 1 bad sector and i regenerated it with hdd regenerator.also i did just in case to refresh it a low level format also.
last thing i scanned with mhdd to check about slow sectors and the result is like that:
sectors with 3ms response:35.100
with 10ms:577.587
with 50ms:258
with 150:1
seems like most of the sectors are in the category with 10ms response(but nothing changed with the l.l.f)
is there a program to fix or refresh the slow sectors or replace them with new ones?
the hdd is working well and i just want to maintaince it.

thanks anyway

No program will refresh anything until the sector itself is marked as pending and then becomes subject to reallocation. In order for this to happen, the sector needs to be tested.
Read in more detail about SMART and then you will understand a bit better.

so the sectors in time will get slower and slower and in the end will become bad by themselves and be reallocated
