WD50000WAAX Royale Mod 42

Is Module 42 able to be copied from another drive (same model and firmware). Noted as 'As unique for this drive' so wanted to check first.

I was following the manual and Page 33 doesn't actually state that is exclusive(not in plain English anyway) but I kind of knew it being adaptive settings, but just wanted to check. Thanks.

Wow... that's a lot of work n my behalf - Thanks Spildit!! I have managed to read Module 42. If I tried reading copy 1 & copy 2 and couldn't get it read, so I tried a composite and ran it a couple of times I eventually got all the critical modules. This sporadic reading leads me to think there is head damage. Got into the user area and it images very slowly but with few errors. The client only wants a couple of QuickBooks files so we may be able to image the MFT and get them. I now have a copy of all needed modules.

I have printed off your suggestion above and will try it once this current job is finished.

42h = 41h :)
just change the module number in the header (41-->42) and recalculate the checksum
