How to replace box

Hi, all
I hope someone help me with my problem.

I have a portable Seagate hard :


But its connector port is damaged.
So I opened it and take its 2.5" hard out :


I bought a new empty box and insert the 2.5" hard inside of it:


Now my problem is :
I can't use it with USB2!
But there is no problem with USB 3 :



How can I solve this issue?
Is it a Firmware issue?
I am using windows XP.

You should beable to get an electric shop to repair the USB connector on the old case. Do you have an image of the damage?

USB 2.0 ports are current limited to 500mA whereas Seagate's 2.5" drives require around 900mA during spin-up. Some USB ports are OK with this, but others are not, in which case you may need to pick up power from two USB ports via a USB Y-cable.

Its the power management behind the ports cause the problem. I've got a USB 2 port that I have connected directly to the PSU of my computer and can ram 6A down it through a modified USB2 hub, can run 4 Seagate drives of it without external power. Just needs rewiring with bigger cables and bypassing a few things.

The damage to the PCB is fatal!
The connector port took off the copper from the PCB!
It can not be repaid for sure

I found out a new thing :
I tested it (2.5"HDD inside of the new box) with Ubuntu and it works fine with both USB2 and USB3!
So the problem is with windows XP?!
Maybe it is related to driver!
Do I have to install a driver to use it on windows xp?!

I was of the impression that Windows XP has native drivers for USB 2.0 controllers and USB 2.0 mass storage devices.
