Hard Disk Recovery Options

January 28th, 2015, 1:05

Hi all,

I have a Hitachi 2TB 7200RPM SATA 6 Gb/s drive that is completely hosed with apparent severe platter damage. I sent the drive to Ontrack's special corporate division and they have determined that none of the data on the drive is recoverable. Unfortunately, for me, this is the CEO's personal hard disk with all his kid's pictures and videos. If Ontrack can't recover any of the data is there any outfit out there that perhaps can? Cost is not an issue. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Seagate claims expertise with media damage. Some drives aren't recoverable by anyone.

If it's not recoverable at the moment by any company. Don't throw it into the bin.
Maybe after several years ,there will be new tech to recover it.
