Data recovery and disk repair questions and discussions related to old-fashioned SATA, SAS, SCSI, IDE, MFM hard drives - any type of storage device that has moving parts

Anyone had any experience with these? Its the first Toshiba with integrated USB board I have seen. Anyone had experience of soldering a SATA connector to it? Or is there a list of matching SATA/USB PCB's like WD (I suspect not). It may also be encrypted. This drive is clicking so need to test on the PC3000 via SATA. Any help would be appreciated.

If it's clicking, then almost certainly it's an internal issue (I.e. Heads and/media damage).
But to convert to SATA, just select a SATA PCB with same MCU and motor chip, then transfer IC602
Doubt it will be hardware encrypted, never seen this on Toshiba.
