Hdd raw copy tool error copying last sector

May 3rd, 2015, 4:44

Hi all.
I've to recover deleted files from a volume made of two disks in EXT3 linux RAID1 installed on a Synology.
I've cloned the two drives with hdd raw tool copy and now i'm searching for deleted files with zero assumption recovery, and it's scanning the raid right now.
During the cloning operation, on one drive hdd raw copy tool said to me 100% complete, but i noticed that in the log the program indicates an error copying the last sector of the disk...
Zero Assumption Recovery made a quick prescan of the raid on the two disks and seems all good...
I can trust the recovery process even with this last sector error, or it's better to try cloning the disk again in your opinion?

Thanks for any advice on my question

for one single sector you gonna clone the entire drive ?
check with an hex editor

I think he means that because it said 100%, and this was false, can he trust the integrity of the whole process or not. Question is not focused on the last sector.

if so, then don't trust this tool at all use something else, ddrescue for example
but first he have to check with an hex editor to find out whether it's done or not
