Hi All,
I have HDD WD5000BMVV model WD hard disk. When i connected to my Ubuntu 14.04 desk top it dictate the HDD but when i trying to format this HDD it give some error. I have attached the screen shot or error with this post. Its request to help me please.

/dev/sdd is the name is letter of the hardrive. You cannot format the hardrive. First you need to create a partition then format the partition.

Thanks for your replay but when i am trying to create partition in Gparted it gives below error. Could you help me pls.
Input/output error during read on /dev/sdd
