WD Mybook 1 Tb Desktop External casing misssing

Dear Friends

One of my customer has sent WD 1TB black Desktop hard disk without original casing. WD model is Mybook having encryption mechanisam.
Is data recovery possible without original hardware ?

Yes, with the right tools, like pc3000udma or so....no freeware though.

If you know the MyBook model, just order a replacement bridge board on eBay.

You may be able to determine the My Book model by entering the HDD serial number into WD's warranty checker:
