Request for MyBook USB controller

July 6th, 2015, 11:33

Hello there,

I'm looking for a USB 3.0 WD MyBook controller, labelled as 4061-705094-001 Rev AD having a JMicron IC. After cloning the faulty drive, now the next problem is that the original USB bridge is totally fried and the drive is encrypted, so our easiest chance is to get another one.

If anybody has one to spare, I will kindly buy it for $20 + delivery.

Cheers

Your offer is a bit low, those typically sell for $40-50 on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/WD-My-Book-Esse ... 2edd353ad9

I know it may look a bit low. But it is just electrojunk..., let's try for $30 + freights, how is that? Come on guys, we've been around for years :P different nicknames though.
I'm not in a hurry for this case.

Why not just decrypt the drive on the fly with DE?

What is "totally fried" about it? The ones that I have seen can usually be fixed with a wire link. Show me a photo and I 'll try to help you ... for nothing.
