Hello there!
I have a problem with "new" series of Toshiba notebook drives HSA compatibility.
As i know, i have match
-model number
-drive rev number
-.....and in this case HDK number.
...but i changed HSA on drives as you see in the picture below with no success.
The donor drive (after i put back HSA) still alive
Patient drive is on the left.
What did i wrong?
The patient drive has a "kkkkkssssshhhhh-kkkkkssssshhhhh-kkkkkssssshhhhh" noise with both HSA.
Please help!

it seems to me that the HDD has fallen, so it can be the spindle or platters are not aligned.
can you upload an audio of the noise ?

country of product is not matching

it sounds exactly like i thought, and i think the drive has fallen, if so, there's a chance of media damage.
have you inspect the platters ?

Yes jeremy, but on the top platter i have not seen any damage, and the donor HSA is still alive in my donor drive.
So is that could be the platter lost it's alignment? (sorry for my poor english

)

Thank you ibcho!
So you think the country is matters?

of course it matters, you need to match the origin of the country and also next to part number you see the letters T and S
as far as I am concerned, they need to matched as well

I will try another donor drive.

Man I hate when Toshiba drives start making that silly noise. Especially just after they ID'd right and straight.
