hello, i have this ST31000333AS, not recognized, many click then shutdown. From terminal when try to spinup report always Spin Error and "R/W Status 2 R/W Error 84150180".
After read many topics seem the problem is bad head.
The disk was already opened so before send to recovery company i do visual check and i think i see a possible head crash, on the outer side of all plate there is a circle about half inch with many tiny spot, see image attached. anyone can confirm that this is possible head crash?? i need to recover only if is possible to recover entire file system ( video recorder )

Thanks

there is a ring somewhere on one or more surfaces and the drive internals are covered with platter-dust...

Depending on the location of the ring it might still be recovered even near 100%, if you are lucky.
