Western Digital WD6400BEVT unresponsive

October 5th, 2015, 6:32

Hi,

I have a WD6400BEVT which suddenly became unresponsive. It suddenly stopped working leading to a system crash and couldnt boot again.

Trying to spin it up it makes the identical sounds as outlined at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2gUN2djOPg

Would anybody have any idea what the defect could be?

Thanks.

This is head sticksion. If there are valuable data on the disk refer to a data recovery lab for recovery near you. If not, bin the drive. Do not be tempted to try DYI solutions circulating on the internet, you will only manage to further damage the drive. The heads and disk surfaces on those models are very fragile.
