Forementioned disk: Toshiba MK3259GSXP 320GB taken out of TANDBERG DATA RDX quikstor
After connecting hard drive to a computer it fails to initiate both in Windows and via Boot CD's.
It returns "I/O Error".
HDDScan says the drive is ATA Password Protected.
Diagnostic tools fail to recognize the drive (e.g. MHDD) or are unable to ckeck it and usualy give out "I/O or Read error" I used the following programs:
DiskGenius, Partition Magic Pro, Fujitsu Diagnostic Tool, HDAT, chkdsk, DiskCheck and a few more.
Only LifeGuard Diagnostic from Western Digital tested the drive with successfull result but it says the drive is 0 bytes.
_
after searching through Google i tried the following to disable the protection:
- Formatting the drive using: Active KillDisk, Darik’s BOOT and Nuke, HDDErase, HDShredder, LifeGuard Diagnostics, GParted, HDD Low level Format Tool, fdisk. There was even a try on unsing Windows 7 installation disk)
- Clearing the attributes in "CMD/DISKPART"
HD has no pins which could be used to physically lock it.
I tried yelling at the drive, changing drivers. I even searched for firmware update (I failed).
Nothing helps.
Maybe you guys have another idea because I'm lost?
Best regards.
