In any case, recovery is possible, even when original bridge is missing.

Same with original PCB for hard drives, they strenuously deny that it's been changed until told it will cost a lot more if they can't produce the original PCB. Then miraculously they suddenly remember that their "PC expert friend" may have changed it and they still have it!
