Seagate ST3320820AS stays BSY

January 17th, 2016, 15:43

On PC3K, this 320GB hard drive spins up, BSY light stays on...

-has normal, quiet spinning sound, but stays BSY forever.

-Power off/on, there is no Terminal output.

-needless to say PC3K is useless at this point because something needs fixing first.

-any ideas folks?

(I have ordered an exact match Donor controller and will
see the results of ROM swap after a week or so...)

-Thanks

Odd there is no terminal output. Double checked settings and correct adapter?
And tried a loader yet?

I have seen drives before that nothing was being posted to terminal at all, however most often it's simply a matter of the terminal not working at the moment.

First, check if your terminal is even working using a good drive. Then I'd probably try shorting the read channel.
