WD3200BEKT security sector

January 29th, 2016, 16:12

Can someone with good knowledge tell me if using a donor HDDSS.BIN will effect performance? For example, If i were to use a HDDSS.BIN from a 5400rpm WD3200BEVT on a 7200rpm WD3200BEKT, will doing so effect the performance or is that data not effected?
thanks

Do you have a locked drive that you want to unlock ? If so edit mod 02 or find password on it.

If you can't read/write to 02 because of SA lock when password is present then what you are saying doesn't make sense as you will not be able to write the module to start with.

I am changing the serial# and was going to edit a donor HDDSS.BIN from a WD3200BEVT. I was just curious if it effects performance considering the BEVT is a 5400rpm hard drive.

No i dont have something better. I dont do this for a living like alot of people on this forum. I am just wanting to change the serial of this drive. I dont want to reinvent the wheel for one drive.

I really just need an answer to my question. I already created an UNDO.BIN and flashed the donor HDDSS.BIN and it works but i was just curious if there is any performance data contained in the security sector?

I believe TS is playing with drives for XBOX360.
To TS - That data is not effected.
