May be ZU can help. I don't know if it's working with arm hitachi or not. And I suggest to show in topic heading that you are looking for password problem solution. Probably it will bring Moltke (ZU author) to your topic.

no, it's IDE compatibility "mode" not IDE HDDs, it's done in BIOS

Unit is blocked, but i don't know why, is a laptop that bring me for repair it, toshiba satellite pro l300 with a sata hdd hitachi 5k320-250, when you turn it on appears the message "enter built in hdd user password" and i can't continue. I enter in bios ok and it as hdd password protected option "user+registered", the owner don't know the password

program understands only the primary and secondary channels.
ie and drive must be connected to only one of them
if more than 10 seconds, turn off. You have not guessed from the channel or parameter
after the program still sees the drive, you will need to transfer the disk in safe mode

Hi moltke, thank you for your reply, i don't know what is "ie" , sorry.
Ok i will try again and ok if is more that 10 seconds i understand you that is something wrong
thanks

Hi, i do the following, i disconnect all drives from the pc, only connect the hitachi to the sata0, i create a pendrive with windows 98 msdos boot and with the zu program of course.
In bios i put sata as ide mode ok and 1st boot the pendrive with the w98 boot. I run zu program with the /p and /s parameters and wait to 10-15 secs but nothing happen again.
i don't know what to do more
thanks
