Hi Guys,
I have this drive WD30EZRX-00D8PB0 that when i connect in PC3K, its normal became "Ready", autodetect the family is Diablo 3S but when i click "Utility Start" it becomes a new windows with options Open HDD and Remove Password. But neither work and i can't acess the FW.
Does any one have this problem?
I appreciate reply's.

Is the drive from a MyBook? Might be a SED locked drive, if so check out this:

@pcimage: Just had one Diabolo3S last week that was locked, but it was a WD30EFRX-68EUZN0 that behaved just like the one the op has and came from a mybook.

Interesting
I've never come across one with this issue (yet) but have seen plenty of xxD8PB0 drives, 3 this week so far.
So far they have all been either bad heads and/or FW issues (slow responding etc..) and I'm pretty sure they aren't actually SED drives. But I'm gonna have a play to see if I can replicate the issue

Short TV9-TV10 on PCB to access FW, load overlays, and on mod02 do a drastic method WD slow issue fix.

This drive is SED

i was able to remove it and decrypted the drive, because was a WD external case that are encrypted by factory. Recovered successfully. Thanks for the reply's. Regards.
