I have here clicking model WD5000BMVW-11AJGS2
Can anybody advice which WD family is it? Does it have 2 platters?

What are you trying to do?
If you want to convert to SATA you need other approach.
If you want to swap heads, you can use a Firebird drive with 2 heads (for example 500GB A1Y).
