If the drive spins, 99% board is ok.
Does it click and spin down? Then there are internal issues (eg. bad heads) and it needs clean room work.

you have to verify that:

1. BIOS or Windows can detect the hard drive with correct capacity
2. drive is not making any abnormal/clicking sound
3. drive is spinning fine all the time and not spinning down.

if all above is correct than you can try to clone/image drive to another drive with ddrescue and than use a recovery software like dmde on the clone drive if required.

otherwise am afraid you have to send it to DR company with proper tools and knowledge which is always recommended if you have important data on drive

hope this will help.

Maybe, maybe not. There are more off the label parameters to take note of.
Furthermore, more than likely there will be problems accessing data. What is the plan in dealing with that?

As "labtech" wrote
labtech wrote:Maybe, maybe not. There are more off the label parameters to take note of.

not to mention that if it's your first time replacing HSA, your chances of success is around 0.0 %
And even you are gonna pull it off, what about next stage (as "labtech" wrote) ?
labtech wrote:Furthermore, more than likely there will be problems accessing data. What is the plan in dealing with that?

But your drive(s) your data your choice
if you want to know if they match, upload here both ROM's (from patient and donor)
