Why do you think the drive failed? Was it dropped?

So far, has been attempted is not good. Recommended not to proceed like this in the future. Also, always ask customer to tell you to the best of their knowledge what may have happened. Reason being is, say the drive was dropped, then powering on is a mistake.

Replacing the heads may help in the sense that a heads replacement might be what is needed, but not 100% sure as other faults should be ruled out first. Running the drive without cover is misleading.

1. You can't, you buy a complete matching donor HDD, taking out the HSA and replacing it.
2. don't do that, the chances of success is not in your favor (need tools, knowledge, clean room/chamber), not to mention the work needs to be dealt with afterwards, FW issues, hardware imaging.
my advice: send it to a pro

You are doing your client a tremendous disservice, putting his or her data at great risk. Please stop experimenting with it, and send it to a pro.

Terminal is useful thing on Seagate F3 drives.
Try to connect it to the drive and send us the report from the drive.
