Data recovery and disk repair questions and discussions related to old-fashioned SATA, SAS, SCSI, IDE, MFM hard drives - any type of storage device that has moving parts

I have been told that the failed logic board of my hdd - model ST3200822A - is the reason that I can't retrieve many old photos stored on it. How do I find out if the board is still available? Is there a way to test if the problem is definitely only the board, and mitigate the risk of purchasing a new board only to find out that the data is still not recoverable?

Does the drive spin up?
If not, then upload a detailed photo of the component side of the PCB.
