Western Digital WD15EARS-00MVWB0
This came out of a MyBook enclosure. When running through the bridge controller, the drive will calibrate, ID correctly and become ready. As soon as you start trying to read from it, every sector times out on all heads. The drive just makes this continuous low thumping sound...it's very quiet. So I'm leaning towards it being the heads that are degraded. I pulled the drive out and if I read directly from the drive, I'm getting ABORT errors all throughout. So I slightly different response. All modules check out ok. I do get a "critical header error" on Module 00, but that is the only issue that seems to show up. Any ideas on what this could be? Again, I'm leaning towards the heads, but not ready to make that jump until I diagnose this further. Thanks!

What about direct connection ?

Can backup all resources from all copies ?

Yes, I connected direct and that's when I started getting the ABORT errors. Through the bridge controller I just get read timeouts. I was able to back up all resources from the drive from both heads.
