HDD vs External Drive Speed

May 18th, 2016, 2:29

I just copied a large amount of date from my Seagate expansion desktop drive to a WD Blue HDD and it averaged a speed of around 100MB/s

I am now copying files from a WD Black HDD to the Seagate expansion drive and its only averaging under 1mb/s

Is this a normal speed for these drives? at this rate, its going to a very long time!

Could we see the Black's SMART report?

Is the drive running in PIO mode rather than DMA mode?

The health status of the drive is fine. Is this different from running a full Smart scan?
