Seagate Barracuda 1TB failure, recovery help!

June 9th, 2016, 11:03

Hi everyone! My name is Senji and I am new to the forum. If I do or say something that is not welcome please just let me know. My boss's hard drive failed and I do not know how to recover data from it. I confirmed that the disk still spins and I did not hear any clicking noises. The BIOS recognizes the hard drive. I attempted to copy the drive over to another Seagate 1tb but it did not work. It recognizes the hard drive as well. Sorry to bug you guys, I just do not know what else to do and am drowning in stress over this. XD Any help would be greatly appreciated. MODEL # OF FAILED HDD: ST1000DM003

Thank you again,
Senji

Hello, the best you can do is to send it to a DR company this drive area a PITA to recover and needs special tools, if you keep attempting to recovered with software you run the risk to destroy the drive for good. IMHO

PS. if you tell us where in the USA you are located we may be able to recommend an engineer to take a look at the drive, FYI must DR labs will offer a free diagnostic I think that the best approach if you want the data off the drive
