Data recovery and disk repair questions and discussions related to old-fashioned SATA, SAS, SCSI, IDE, MFM hard drives - any type of storage device that has moving parts

Im trying to go through some old hard drives (one is ide and one is sata) so i bought an ide to usb connector. It has worked for some drives, but i have a couple that are showing up as a removable drive with no media in disk management, and not showing up at all under My PC. I have tried to use a couple of recovery programs one doesnt see the drive at all (PC3) and the other sees the drive but says no media and will not try to recover it (Recover My Files). The drives sound like they are running fine, no clicking or anything. when i look under properties it shows 0 capacity, 0 allocated space, and 0 reserved space, and it shows it as working properly. I have searched the net for hours and i've tried many different other programs with no success. One of the hard drives is really old, but the other is just a couple of years old and was being used as a secondary drive. I am using windows 10.
Just hoping someone has dealth with this before and may have a solution. Any help is appreciated..

Maxtor Model 90840D6 (Old Drive)
Seagate Barracuda Model 1000DM003 1 TB
Tools I have used REcover My Files, Recuva, Data Rescue PC3. I've also downloaded the Seagate Disk Tool, but it does not see the drive

Maxtor Model 90840D6 (Old Drive)
This drive uses CHS (Cylinder, Head, Sector) and not LBA (Logical Block Addressing) like newer drives. You are going to need a older computer to use this drive.
Seagate Barracuda Model 1000DM003 1 TB
Are you plugging this drive directly into your motherboard?
Download Crystal Disk and paste the screenshot here of the Seagate.

For the maxtor, how do i know how old the pc needs to be? What do i need to look for on the pC to let me know itshould be compatible?
The Seagate was plugged into the motherboard initially of my desktop and thats when i noticed it quit working. So i removed it and brought it to work, so i could work on it using my laptop and Ide to sata connector on my downtime. Thats when i noticed it showing no media
