WD Data LifeGuard Diagnostics taking a very very long time!!

June 18th, 2016, 13:57

Hi, I have a Dell n5010 notebook. It's H.D.D was corrupted so I used ddrescue an recovered about 99.99% of my data gladly. But now I want to reallocate the bad-sectors via Low-Level-Format with "WD Data LifeGuard Diagnostics Tool" but it estimate more than 250 hours to finish it!

Because this tool does not support stop and resume I like to let me known If you have another solution for me please.
I haired somethings about "hparams" in linux but I don't have enough experience about it (if you suggest, I'm ready to start to learn it).

Can I use "HDD Regenerator" instead "WD Data LifeGuard"?
Do you know other tool with support WD's firmware to add bad-sectors to "spare sector pool" (win or linux)?

thank you!
