Buy update with tech support which is not cheap, or buy another set of PC 3000 instead of update?

Buying a new unit still won't update your old one. So sooner or later you're going to want to update it. I wish they offered an update only plan where you pay less but don't get the tech support. I've never really used the tech support anyway.
