Seagate ST31000342AS recover data

July 14th, 2016, 6:18

Hallo,

I'm a newbie from this world and i'm really interesting to know more about it

I have this HD, it comes from iMac 2009 24".
The issue is :
1. hd start
2. heard a four times noise than stop
3. if you place your ear, you heard HD spin.

I did a research and seems like a HD death sound. I've tried to replace a motherboard with a similar firmware but made the same issue
System recognize HD only with data rescue or disk drill or terminal ( diskutil list )
Also I've tried to copy with dd from terminal. He did it but there are no data.

Could be something on motherboard? Or inside HD? Can I move firmware chip to another motherboard and recover data?
I must to ask a data recover specialist?

Thank you :) :)

if drive clicks and stop spinning after, so problem in heads and you need to go to pro.
